Job Description:
The City of Lincoln Park is seeking one individual to work directly with the City Manager and his staff on special projects such as CDBG census tracts, USPS vacancy rates and creating an inventory of city owned property with current locations. In addition, the candidate will create a registered rental and expired rental list, as well as, a vacant property list by type.

The candidate will be responsible for the research, analysis and development of these specific city projects. This information will play a pivotal role in executing the city’s Neighborhood Improvement Program. This position may offer exposure to multiple city departments and processes if the candidate proves successful. The position requires excellent analytical, problem-solving, writing and communication skills.

The intern will work approximately 10-15 hours per week, with a flexible start date, and is open to individuals who are currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s program.

Major Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) through the budgetary process by inputting data, performing appropriate analysis and preparing necessary reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position is open to individuals who are currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s program in Public Administration or Business Administration. Also, the intern will have experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Lastly, a valid State of Michigan driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:
Analytical/quantitative coursework and experience with data, writing, research and communication development highly preferred.
