LCR Testing

The purpose of the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) is to protect public health by minimizing lead and copper levels in drinking water, primarily by reducing corrosivity.

Prior to the adoption of the new Michigan Lead and Copper Rule in June 2018, Michigan's requirements were consistent with the federal Lead and Copper Rule. The new Michigan rule includes targeted changes that are detailed in this Lead & Copper Rule Brochure.

The number of people served by our water supply dictates the number of testing sites necessary. The City of Lincoln Park needs to test roughly 30 homes. If you are interested participating, please complete our form below.

How do I know if I have a lead service line?
  • Look at the color of the pipe coming in to your home (just before the water meter). If the pipe is gray in color, your service line is likely lead. If the pipe is orange in color, it is likely copper.
