Free Smoke Alarms Are Available To City Residents

The Fire Department currently has free smoke alarms available to any interested resident (limit 3). The smoke alarms have been provided by the American Red Cross as part of their “Home Fire Campaign” and are available until supplies run out. The alarms are Kidde brand sealed units that have a ten year battery life, at which time the detector is discarded. Any interested resident, please stop by the fire station during business hours or call the Fire Chief at (313) 381-1100 ext. 2512.
