New Tree Request

Each spring the Lincoln Park Department of Public Service receives an allotment of trees that can be planted on residential easements (the grassy area located between the sidewalk and the street), providing that the easement meets certain criteria determined by the Department of Public Services.

the allotment of trees for 2022 have been accounted for. Any additional requests will be added to an eligibility list for 2023. 

If you are interested in being added to an eligibility list to receive one of these trees, please fill out the form below or contact the Department of Public Service at (313) 386-1800 ext. 2704 and leave a brief message with your name, address, and telephone number.

The DPS will inspect your property to ensure it meets the required criteria. Following the inspection, the Department of Public Services will plant the tree. After the tree is planted, the resident is responsible for all maintenance and care of the tree. Residents are unable to pick a specific tree breed.

Please keep in mind that submitting your information does not guarantee that you will receive a tree. You will be added to an eligibility list and trees will be planted on a first-come, first-serve basis providing that your easement meets the criteria determined by the DPS.

If your easement does meet the criteria, but you do not receive a tree in the spring, your address will be moved to the eligibility list for the following year.
